GOV. RITTER & JOBS CABINET PLANNING GROUP TO VISIT LARIMER COUNTY MONDAY

Gov. Bill Ritter will lead a Jobs Cabinet planning group visit to LarimerCounty on Monday for meetings with local business leaders, workforce development experts, and secondary and post-secondary education officials.

Monday’s meetings will serve as a listening opportunity for the Governor and the planning group to gather information prior to the formation of the full Jobs Cabinet, which is expected later this year. The Jobs Cabinet will be composed of senior business and education leaders, along with members of the Governor’s Cabinet, and will report directly to the Governor.

The Jobs Cabinet will work to align the state’s economic-development and education programs with current and projected workforce needs of industry to ensure development of a modern labor force. At Gov. Ritter’s direction, the Jobs Cabinet will focus on establishing a 21st century workforce across Colorado‘s five economic regions (Front Range, Western Slope, SanLuisValley, Eastern Plains and mountain communities).

The Jobs Cabinet planning group includes four members of Gov.
